When you look back on your life, your wedding will stand out as a significant milestone in your story. For me, wedding photography is about capturing the essence of you. Because my shooting style is deeply rooted in photojournalism and documentary photography, I capture the spontaneous subtle gestures, deep gazes, and minute details that truly reveal who you are as a couple. I’m not only reverent to the moments that make up your day, I’m careful to let your story reveal itself. I don’t want the mood or scene to change because I’m there with my camera.

As for my backstory, my documentary approach was developed at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After graduating with a degree in photojournalism, I spent many years as a staff photojournalist at daily newspapers in Kansas City, northern Utah and Chicago before moving to St. Louis and striking out as a freelance photographer. I’ve worked on a wide range of domestic and international assignments; my work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Washington Post, and USA Today, among other publications. I’m also a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, the National Press Photographers Association and the American Society of Media Photographers. When I’m not out with my camera, you can find me with my husband in our 126-year-old home. We have two cats: Hops and Barley. And yes (because I know you’re wondering) we enjoy good beer, too.
